Like many others, my journey working in the health, wellness, and fitness industry started with a personal passion for it. Some of it was self-interested, but largely was to help others, especially women. I just wanted to help others create positive change in their lives through being healthy and active. There are so many stereotypes of what women should look like, act like, and be like. This industry creates space for women to be who we want to be, more so than other industries. My career path has morphed throughout the last 13 years. I started as a strength and conditioning coach training young and collegiate athletes. This transformed into working with all populations as an exercise physiologist. Another transformation later, it was taking that knowledge into management roles. Now, as the General Manager, I have the opportunity to lead all women management, supervisory and membership teams. Not only do I get to set a positive example and encouraging healthy behavior change for the members but also for the teams I lead. My personal passion for health, wellness and fitness never faded, it just looks different now.
